Good Day World! In my randomness, I find this topic very interesting to talk about because of recent activities of course done by me. I play soccer and have played in a team before, but it has definitely been awhile since I used those football skills. Let's just say... I did something today and it made me laugh so I'm writing about it. You say, "Well this is boring.." then take a hike! But if you believe this is going somewhere, then read on- being with me can be educational sometimes(lol).
Any technique in this sport is utilized to gain control of the ball- control is the key. There are different methods of swinging at the ball with your head:

From left to right, this is how to perform them...
First is the Common or standard way; it is done by hitting the ball with force by arching back and swinging your head forward. The ball should hit the center of your forehead.
Next is Diving... I don't just plunge your face in the dirt. This is performed by plunging your body in the path of the ball while stretching your arms forward for safe landing. Frankly, I don't think they should call it diving... it should've been called "flying" since how you have to make sure you protect your face... Hence you plan to propel and land- propelling up and landing safe= Aeronautics! Before I get carried away with that issue which I have been for years now... let's just move on.
Thirdly, Glancing header is pretty easy- it's just turning your head to where you want the ball to fly as you hit it.
Lastly, Flick header is done by hitting the ball with the back of your head.
Okay... This was just an excuse to run the mouth in my naggin.... But seriously knowledge of these techniques is extremely important! It requires precision and skill! Any player who can't perform these correctly is seriously in big doo doo! These stuff can break your nose, rack your brain, give you a black-eye, disfigure your pretty little face, or even crack your head open(that was exaggerated...). You need to practice. Practice makes perfect. My coach always told me- "You need to hit the ball not the ball beating you up." Who was he kidding?! ME? Who likes getting hit in the head with a flying object?! They always say that it won't hurt you if you do it correctly...
I wonder if this girl did it correctly:
Its looks like it hurts... Ouch!!!
